Gathering Intelligences and Agencies: Designing for Multi-Species Encounter

What can we do together?

We are entering a time when computing systems are becoming deeply capable. We are being invited to show up differently, to work in different ways.

This shift raises a question that is less technical than it is deeply human: What kinds of intelligences and sense-making capabilities do we need to cultivate in ourselves, as we learn to adapt to these newer kinds of agencies?

Gathering Intelligences and Agencies is a series of introductory workshops, meetings and gatherings to explore what sense making we need to respond to, evaluate and collaborate with agentic intelligences.

We have questions

If the internet is becoming a space that machines build, design and communicate through, what space does this open up for embodied humans, with custodianship of Country, with vulnerable bodies and concern for endangered species and a rapidly-heating planet?

If data is best computed by agents, what stories can we share? What different tools can artists, storytellers, poets, non-developers build now that code can be accessed through natural language?

If platforms are breaking, and agents are building, what collaborations can we spark to support diferent forms of care and connection?

We are interested in connecting artists, researchers, technologists, curators, social entrepreneurs and community builders to explore what it means to work with AI in ways that are relational, conscious, and collaborative.
